Skipped last week out of superstition, but am back (slightly belated) for another weeks entry. Just want to say, before I begin rambling, a big big thank you to all my fans and friends (Fan/friends?) Who have been keeping up with my career for the past - gosh - 4 months already? It's been really great for me to chronicle my headway into this next phase of my career and hope it has been equally as enjoyable for you, the reader.
This week has been big! Two weekend shows with bathtub moon and beginning to really move forward with the album. Words can't express how excited I am about this! Had my second meeting with my producer, Wilson. We worked out some charts for the first 4 songs set to record Feb 8th, and played through them/talked about the feel and arrangements. It's been a while since I've had other instrumental musicians play through my songs with me. Forgot how much I like it. Also talked about how we are going to work the music into/under the poetry aspect of the album. I think it's gonna be good.
On Sunday night (the most gorgeous day in a while just 2 days after a "massive" snow storm. What? Texas, you are crazy!) went over to Bruce's and recorded some junk vocal and uke tracks for reference on the big recording day. Man do I love being in the studio. It took a little while to figure out the right groove/tempo, but after a few takes, it started to come back to me how to do this. Launching my kickstarter in about two weeks! This is real. Wow, I am so...
