Wow, what a week! Today is officially the 11th day and we are nearly 30% funded! I gotta say, It's been amazing to have an excuse to re-connect with old friends, meet new people, and receive messages and contributions from perfect strangers. I am officially converted, and now think that everyone should have the experience of doing a kickstarter. It's a total trip!
Between playing shows, taking photos, jamming out with some new friends, baby sitting and working my day job, I probably worked more hours last week than I have, maybe ever? Am super excited to have most of this week off to recover, resume my ukulele practice, and catch up on some "adult bureaucracy system" stuff. Am also hopeful that I will be able to find a cheep bike - SXSW is coming and the roads are already clogged.
Had my last recording session with Bruce, my engineer, yesterday to finish up a few songs for my New Folk submission before taking a break in March. South by South West is coming and the city is gonna be crazy!!! Bruce is head of the recording crew for the fest and will be super busy. My plan is to figure out how to slip into the cracks and share my music with as many people as possible. Will resume tracking with the band in April.
In the mean time, will leave you with some pics from our first full-band recording session on 2/8. February's almost over - Looking forward to March (another busy month!)
....and of course, keep spreading the word :)
